How to Slay 2018

As we await for the new year, we all get in this “new year, new me” type of mood.

Let’s make 2018 a better version of yourself with these tips:

  •  Take time for yourself
Even if it’s 1-2 hours at least 2 times a week to do what you enjoy is good for the soul. As a mother myself, we always put ourselves last on our to do list and than at the end of the week we find ourselves about to pull out our own hair because we are just overwhelmed and stressed. Giving yourself that time to do what you enjoy will make the week go more smoother. Also ladies just because your a mother does not mean you get to loose yourself!!! Don’t ever forget you are beautiful!

  • Appreciating everything around you
We can never predict what 2018 has in stores for us, let’s be real were good at one point and than we go down. It’s normal, its life but instead curling up in a ball and getting all depressed let’s take a moment and realize how blessed we are. Take a look around you and appreciate the ones that stood by year in 2017 and going in 2018, the ceiling over your head, the bed you sleep in, the food you eat, etc I think you get the point. No matter what situation you may find yourself in 2018 always remember your not alone, were all going through a situation we just need to find a way to keep our self together to go through it with our head up high and remember you are truly blessed.
  • Let God take the wheel

Now this year I have become more religious and let me tell you how fast my life has changed for the better. There will be times in life in general not just in this new year that you will feel like there’s no way out. Let me tell you just by praying and telling God your leaving the situation in his hands, your shoulders will feel so much more lighter. Don’t stress and don’t get overwhelmed as God has taken control of over your situation and will get you through it. You will grow as a person and you will become wiser after the storm has ended.

  • Put health as priority
OKAY! I know every year we say this to ourselves, were finally going to hit up the gym and eat clean. But don’t worry it’s never too late to start; take little baby steps if you have to. Start working out 1-2 times a week and making better choices for food when you can. At the end of the day the only person that will take care of yourself is YOURSELF! I personally do boot camp with my trainer and I come out feeling like a new woman every time!
  • Set goals for the year
Make your goals as specific as possible. Don’t let others opinions stop you from having big goals! You are capable to accomplish them. Now in order to accomplish each goal you truly need to believe in yourself even when others may think otherwise and if you don’t accomplish it than the way you tried to complete the goal was not the right way and just try again, DO NOT GIVE UP. 

  • Visualize your goals
I know this is easier said than done but nothing is easy in life let’s be real! What I personally did to keep visualizing my goals is to create a vision board. You can get as creative as you want when doing these, which I personally love.
  • Do what makes you “internally” happy
Listen you only live once! Make decisions that you happy. You were not place on this earth to please others or to explain your happiness to others. Not only is happiness a pleasing emotion but it makes you healthier and more confident.
